Good to Know

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might want to know about our honey, from storage to shipping.

Is your honey really raw?

Yes. Our honey is never heated above hive temperature and only lightly strained to remove wax and debris. Nothing is added, and none of the natural enzymes, pollen, or aromatics are processed out.

My honey crystallized — did it go bad?

Not at all. Crystallization is completely natural for raw honey and is actually a sign of the real, unprocessed thing. To return it to liquid, place the jar in a bowl of warm (not hot) water and stir gently. Never microwave it — that destroys the enzymes that make raw honey special.

How should I store it, and how long does it last?

Keep it at room temperature with the lid sealed. Do not refrigerate — that speeds up crystallization. Stored properly, honey essentially never spoils; it's one of the only foods that keeps indefinitely.

Can I give honey to my baby?

No. Honey should never be given to children under 12 months of age due to the risk of infant botulism. This is true of all honey, raw or not. For everyone older, enjoy freely.

Where does your honey come from?

Every jar comes from our own hives in Weeki Wachee, Florida. It's single-source — never blended with honey from other producers or regions.

Why does the color and flavor change between batches?

Because it's seasonal and single-source. The flavor and color depend on what's blooming when the bees forage, so each harvest is a little different. That variation is part of what makes real honey wonderful.

Is your honey organic?

We never treat our bees or honey with anything we wouldn't want in our own kitchen. True USDA organic certification is nearly impossible for honey, though, because bees forage for miles beyond any single property. So we focus on what we can control: clean, careful, small-batch beekeeping.

Do you ship, or can I pick up locally?

Both. We ship across the United States, with cost calculated at checkout by weight. If you're local to Weeki Wachee, you can choose free local pickup at checkout and we'll reach out to arrange a time.

What if my jar arrives damaged?

We pack carefully, but glass and shipping don't always agree. If anything arrives broken or wrong, contact us within 7 days with a photo and we'll make it right with a replacement or refund.

Do you sell wholesale?

We do work with a small number of local shops and markets. Reach out through our contact page and tell us a bit about what you're looking for.
